  • New City America formed its 55th Community Benefit District,(PBID), this time in Downtown Tracy California. Property owners voted by a margin of almost 8 to 1 to support the creation of this new Downtown special benefits district to bring life and dynamic energy back to this historic Downtown. Tracy is approximately 55 miles east of Oakland California and represents a significant and growing city of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. New City has been awarded a new contract to consult and form the new Tracy District Management Corporation through June 2010.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to investigation the formation of a new BID in Downtown Vista California. Vista is a growing urban area in San Diego’s North County area. NCA will start this investigation in working with property owners in January 2010;

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to investigation the feasibility of creating a new Downtown Property Business Improvement District in Downtown El Centro. NCA has worked on and off in this significant city in the Imperial Valley for the past 10 years. El Centro is the cultural and government center for the entire Imperial County which lies adjacent to the huge manufacturing city of Mexicali in Baja California.

  • New City America East has just been awarded a contract to investigate the establishment of a new Community Benefit District in Downtown Easton, Pennsylvania. Working in conjunction with Donna Taggart of Taggart and Associates, New City America East will kick off the investigation of the new Easton CBD in mid November at a public forum. This is the third contract received by New City America East in the state of Pennsylvania.

  • New City America, as administrators of the Little Italy Association of San Diego, held the largest single event in Little Italy’s history with the 15th Annual Festa on Sunday October 11th. Over 125,000 people attended this single day event, making it perhaps the largest single day Italian American celebration in the US today.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract by the City of Coronado, to investigate the needs of the business district in Downtown Coronado California. This first phase of the contract will ascertain which problems exist in the business community and provide options for improving commerce in this great island business district located just across the bay from Downtown San Diego.

  • Marco Li Mandri, was featured as the moderator for the International Downtown Association National Conference held in Milwaukee Wisconsin on September 13th. Working with Charles Gauthier, the Executive Director of the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, Li Mandri and Gauthier presented information to the well attended workshop regarding the value of public space development and “placemaking” as it pertains to the Little Italy district of San Diego and the Granville Corridor public improvement project in Downtown Vancouver.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to investigate the formation of a new Tourism Improvement District in Baltimore Maryland. NCA has been hired by Tom Noonan, CEO of the Baltimore Convention and Visitors Bureau to work with his Board and the City of Baltimore to see this new funding mechanism created by the end of the calendar year. This would be the first Tourism Improvement District, of its kind, on the East Coast.

  • Marco Li Mandri, President of New City America, was the moderator of a special panel entitled “Managing Destination Management Organizations in a Time of Fiscal Crisis” at the National Conference for the Destination Management International Association on July 29th, in Atlanta Georgia. Members of the panel included Dan Fenton from Team San Jose, Dan Goldes from the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau and Ken Fischange from the Sonoma County Visitors Bureau. Over 200 DMAI members attended this workshop.

  • Marco Li Mandri, President of New City America, was featured on the top of the fold on page 1 of the San Diego Business Journal’s June 15th – 20th, 2009 edition. The San Diego Business Journal is San Diego’s leading business newspaper. The article, accompanied with two photos of Li Mandri, spoke about how New City America has grown into one of the largest and most successful businesses establishing and managing CBDs and BIDs in the US today.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to renew the Thousand Oaks Boulevard Property Business Improvement District in Thousand Oaks California;

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to investigate and possibly expand the Los Angeles Lincoln Heights Industrial Zone Business Improvement District. This small, but potent district, has made a dramatic impact on the Industrial Zone properties over the past 10 years and is now up for its first renewal.

  • New City America has had its 54th Business Improvement District established, this time in Chula Vista California. On February 17th, 2009, the Chula Vista Auto Dealers of the Auto Row BID voted unanimously to approve this new BID and the district was adopted unanimously by the Chula Vista City Council.

  • On December 16th, 2008 New City America, working with the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau, successfully formed its 53rd Business Improvement District, the largest BID in the history of North America. The 27 million dollar Tourism Improvement District will provide 18 million dollars in funding for marketing and promotional programs and 9 million dollars per year, matched by the City, to upgrade and expand the Moscone Convention Center. The new TID was support by 95% of the voting hotels and was approved unanimously by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.

  • On December 16th, 2008 New City America successfully formed its 52nd Community Benefit Improvement District, this time in the Willow Glen business district of San Jose California. This is the first of what is anticipated to be many CBIDs in San Jose, the third largest City in California and the capital of the Silicon Valley.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to establish a new Orange County Tourism Improvement District. New City America was hired by the Orange County Visitors and Convention Bureau after the group saw the results of the success of New City America’s work in the formation of the San Francisco Tourism Improvement District.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to renew the Historic Chinatown Business Improvement District in Los Angeles California. The district has reached its 10 year anniversary and is now up for renewal.

  • New City America has been awarded a contract to investigation and establish a new Community Benefit Improvement District in the West San Carlos district of the City of San Jose, California.
